SUMMARY:Eric Nadel's Birthday Benefit featuring Sammy Rae & The Friends with special guest Chuck Prophet
DESCRIPTION:Haynes Boone and KXT 91.7FM Present the Eric Nadel Birthday Benefit  \n      The Eric Nadel Birthday Benefit Concert celebrates its 14th  edition by featuring two of Eric’s favorite bands….Brooklyn based Sammy Rae & the Friends\, and Bay Area favorite Chuck Prophet and the Cumbia Shoes. \n     The benefit supports the work of the Grant Halliburton Foundation\, a local non-profit that provides mental health education\, training and support to teens and families. To learn more\, visit GrantHalliburton.org \n     Formed in 2016\, Sammy Rae &  the Friends are a jazz-pop band known for their high-energy live shows. Many have likened their style to that of another New York based band\, Lake Street Dive. Their latest album of “Songs We Wish We Wrote”\, features innovative covers of some of their….and our….favorite songs. \n     Chuck Prophet has been a mainstay on the SF Bay Area music scene for over 3 decades\, with over a dozen solo albums. His recent album\, “Wake the Dead\,” features a band of musical all-stars performing Cumbia-influenced tunes\, including “First Came the Thunder”\, which was selected by KXT-FM listeners as one of the top 15 songs of 2025. \n     The combination of these two bands will provide a party-like atmosphere for Eric Nadel’s 75th birthday.  The Rangers’ Hall of Fame broadcaster hosts the benefit\, which includes a live and silent auction. \n     Sponsor tables and suites are available through Grant Halliburton Foundation. Visit granthalliburton.org/ericnadel to learn more or to purchase a sponsorship\, or email julia@granthalliburton.org.  \n \nSammy Rae & The Friends \nThe mantra of the Friends? \nGo put a smile on somebody’s face\, go tell somebody they’ve got a place in this world\, go tell somebody you wanna be friends with them. \nFor as much as Sammy Rae & The Friends may be a band\, this collective of dreamers and artists considers themselves a family first. That all-for-one and one-for-all camaraderie ignites their unforgettable and can’t-miss live shows\, which serve as a catharsis for both the musicians and their fervent audience. Fronted by singer/songwriter Sammy Rae and honed through years of touring\, the group is capable of flourishing in any spotlight thanks to its signature blend of palpable chemistry\, deft virtuosity\, and vocal fireworks. \nTheir sound\, which has attracted new fans by the thousands in the past few years\, is a unique mélange of Sammy’s influences: classic rock\, folk and funk and sprinkled with soul and jazz. Rae has been building toward this moment since moving to NYC from Connecticut in her early 20s. Finding herself without a built-in peer group\, she simply built it herself: the literal and proverbial Friends. When she started playing shows\, she made sure the audience was part of the family too. Everything that’s happened since – from EP’s “The Good Life” (2018) and “Let’s Throw a Party” (2021) to sold-out shows in major markets and secondary markets alike across North American and the UK & Europe\, to high-profile festival sets around the world\, including Bonnaroo’s main stage\, Sound on Sound\, All Things Go\, and more – has been based on friends telling friends. \nWith the release of their debut album “Something For Everybody” in 2024\, Sammy Rae & The Friends have come to represent more than just a band: they are a full-on movement being adopted with refreshingly diverse clientele.  The band is currently working on their next album.  \nChuck Prophet \nChuck Prophet’s streak of more than a dozen critically acclaimed solo records stretches all the way back to 1990\, when the California native first shifted focus from his tenure with pioneering neo-psych band Green on Red to working under his own name. Since then\, his songs have appeared in a slew of films and television shows\, and his work has been covered by Bruce Springsteen\, Solomon Burke\, Heart\, and a host of others. Rolling Stone dubbed him a “streetwise city kid with an eye for the country\,” while Uncut proclaimed him a “renaissance-rocker\,” and NPR declared that “no one can turn tales from the outer limits into catchy songs quite like Prophet does.”

SUMMARY:Josiah and the Bonnevilles None
DESCRIPTION:Josiah Leming has paid his dues. As a teenager from East Tennessee\, his devotion to music led him to hit the road\, where he lived in his car and played for anyone who would listen. That took him all the way to a major record deal when he was only nineteen. When that ended\, he refused to give up and became an indie artist\, relying solely on the music and his undeniable gift for crafting relatable songs that led to a devoted fan base he calls the Bonnevilles. He appreciates them so much that he includes them in his artist name. “They’re the reason I’m able to make music\,” he says. \n2024 saw Josiah and the Bonnevilles reaching new heights\, completing a headlining tour of thirty-three sold-out dates followed by a slew of international stops that proved his global following. He has become known for raw emotion and a profound connection to his audience. This newfound attention has led to much anticipation for his new album — and As Is lives up to the expectations. \n“I knew I had a responsibility to try to become a better writer\, a better artist\,” he says. “One day that feels like a blessing\, and the next it feels pretty intimidating.” Instead of reproducing his popular sound from the self produced “Endurance”\, he decided to expand it. “I think it would have been hard to keep my excitement to go out on the road with another kind of acoustic record.” \nHis tenth studio album finds him going more electric than ever before\, even as he unplugs from the digital world. “I feel like a grizzled old veteran at this point\,” he says\, even though he is only thirty-six. “I’m desiring quiet\, a work space away from the internet…I felt like it was important to pull back this last year and try to understand what’s on my heart.” What he found there resulted in an album focusing on joy\, sorrow\, and working-class issues that feel very of the moment in a time when so many Americans are struggling to make ends meet. \nLeming comes by his empathy for working people honestly. He’s one of nine siblings\, born and raised in Morristown\, Tennessee\, right in the heart of Appalachia. He taught himself piano when he was eight and was writing songs by thirteen. As a child he was intently aware of his community and intensely proud of his people\, something he thinks about even more in these trying times. “I look at my I look at my folks in East Tennessee and very few of them seem to be winning in this new world\,” Leming says. “Being a regular person\, working\, trying your best. I think that’s something to be proud of.” \nHis records have always been intensely personal. But on As Is he wanted to step away from being the main character and instead use vignettes to express essential truths he has learned. “I want anyone to be able to put it on and not think about me when they’re listening. I want them to be in the emotion.” Because of this he made a conscious choice to not include himself on the album cover. \nLeming chose ten tracks from ninety-six songs he has written over the last year and a half. As Is features the most co-writes he has ever recorded. “I love writing alone\, but I wanted to bring in some trusted partners on this one\,” he says. The resulting list features some of the most acclaimed songwriters working today. There’s Nashville powerhouse Natalie Hemby\, a two-time Grammy winner who has written for everyone from Lady Gaga to Miranda Lambert; Joel Little\, a Grammy winner who has written with Lorde\, Taylor Swift\, Noah Kahan\, and many others; Scott Harris\, best known for work he’s produced or written for artists such as Shawn Mendes\, Dua Lipa\, and The Chainsmokers; and others. \nTo help him find the sound he hoped to achieve\, Leming brought in Konrad Snyder as a co-producer. Snyder has engineered or produced some of the best work to come out of Nashville in the last decade\, including tracks by Kacey Musgraves\, Stephen Sanchez\, and Noah Kahan. “It was an amazing partnership with Konrad\,” Leming says. “I never had to touch a computer or a piece of gear; he’s a whiz with all that stuff. I’m usually so hands-on with my stuff\, switching between setting up\, tracking and editing but on this record I got to just perform the songs.” \nThe songs on As Is feature Leming’s vivid sense of place\, precise yet poetic lyrics\, and  emotion that is always longingly expressed by his vulnerable vocals. This collection is more up-tempo than most of his work\, which is something Leming and Snyder strived to make happen on about half the songs. “I was thinking a lot about the energy\, of having a couple songs that can amp up people at live shows\,” he says. \nThis power is especially apparent on songs like opening track “Good Boy”\, which boils toward a rousing breakdown\, “Carolina Heart”\, a tune Leming calls “less existential and my attempt at a feel-good song\,“ and “Going Gone”\, a nostalgic track about the passage of time. “Mountain Girl” is a foot-tapping harmonica-led tribute to Appalachian women. There’s the jaunty rock of “Redline”\, and a song called “One Day at a Time” that is sure to resonate with anyone who has ever struggled with addiction\, depression\, or a lack of confidence. Leming’s fans often cite his storytelling abilities as one reason they love his work\, and that takes center stage on the title track\, a spoken-word song. “Where It Starts” is a meditation on how heartache can lead to great art. The first single is the powerful “Hell Without the Flames\,” the album’s darkest track that also showcases some of the best lyrics and vocals of his career. \nThey all make for a collection of songs that take the listener full circle. “There’s all these kinds of love stories\, and it walks through many variations on heartbreak\, ultimately landing on home\, acceptance and overcoming that hurt. I just want people to be able to see themselves in the songs.” \nThat’s what it’s all about for Leming. “The only goal for me is to make something real\, and honest\, and that can get them through the day\,” he says. “I gave everything I have for this album. I laid it all on the table\, which is what I always want to do.”  \nAs Is proves to be all of that\, and more\, a milestone for one of our most authentic and resonant artists working today.

SUMMARY:Tech N9ne & E-40
DESCRIPTION:Out of the Midwest\, Tech N9ne broke all of the rules\, subverted expectations\, dumbfounded the system\, and set a precedent for hip-hop and independent music often imitated (but never duplicated) by generations to follow. At the helm of his own Strange Music proudly based in Kansas City\, MO since 2000\, he has personally notched four platinum singles\, eleven gold singles\, and two gold albums. As a whole\, the Strange Music catalog also houses 23 RIAA gold and platinum records. The company’s Kansas City headquarters consists of six buildings: Strange Music (label offices)\, Strangeland (recording studios\, soundstage)\, Strange World (merchandise manufacturing plant)\, Strange Box (vehicles)\, Strange Carwash\, and Strange Works (construction company). Representing the underground\, Tech is practically “a regular” on the Forbes “Cash Kings” list. Beyond gracing the cover of XXL and the stage of ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!\, he wound up on the playlist of none other than Sir Elton John and performing to 1 million-plus at the parade for the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory. He’s the only artist (on this planet) who has collaborated with Eminem\, Tupac\, Lil Wayne\, and Kendrick Lamar as well as The Doors\, Slipknot\, System of a Down\, Deftones\, Jelly Roll\, and MGK. He holds down the record for “most Top 10 albums on the Billboard Rap Chart” and staked a spot in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200 four times. On top of a thriving self-sufficient merchandising empire\, he notably joined forces with Kansas City’s own Boulevard Brewery for his craft beer Bou Lou. After three decades in the game\, the rapper landed “the biggest hit of his career” with 2021’s “Face Off” featuring Joey Cool\, King Iso\, and none other than megastar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. In unprecedented fashion\, he ignited TikTok\, generated a quarter-of-a-billion streams\, and incited a frenzy from Variety\, People\, TMZ\, NY Post\, Today\, and Entertainment Weekly. Tech N9ne continued his journey in 2023 with the acclaimed BLISS and more to come. \n

SUMMARY:CITIZEN SOLDIER * ADALITAS WAY * NEW MEDICINE
DESCRIPTION:Citizen Soldier was born when frontman Jake Segura penned the lyrics to one of their first songs from a psychiatric hospital in Salt Lake City\, Utah. Segura now sits on the other side of the therapy couch\, working as a licensed trauma counselor to tell the stories of those navigating internal struggles through a no-frills alt/rock post/grunge packaging. The Utah five piece of members Jake Segura (lead vocals)\, Wonitta (bass/piano) Kyle Persell (drums) Kooper Hanosky (rhythm guitar)\, and Matt Duffney (lead \ngut-punching storytelling. \n“Citizen Soldier isn’t your typical rock band. While many groups dabble in themes of heartbreak or personal struggle\, this Utah-based ensemble have made it their mission to confront mental health issues head on.” \n-Phoenix New Times \nThe results speak for themselves; A ravenously loyal fan base that has forced an entirely independent group into the same circles as some of the biggest names in rock music. The band boasts 900k+ TikTok followers\, 800+ million listens worldwide\, and 1+ million monthly listeners on Spotify alone. In August of 2024\, the band celebrated its first #1 single on the iTunes rock charts\, “Burden” \nThe band’s live productions\, self-described as “group therapy sessions” have been an instant hit with \ntheir supporters all over the United States. In just one year of touring\, the band caught lightning in a bottle\, logging a #84 rank on Pollstar\, selling out their first headlining tour in 1500+ cap rooms\, and earning slots at prestigious rock festivals (Welcome to Rockville\, Aftershock\, Louder Than Life\, Rockfest\, Upheaval\, Sonic Temple\, and more). These placements have been attained the old fashion way-by selling lots of tickets. No label\, no manager\, no political connections\, no leveraging of favors- just proving they belong through their own hard work. \n“Citizen Soldier is one of the fastest growing bands in the alternative rock space. Their ascension has been remarkable\, going from headlining 200 to 1500+ cap venues in a blink of an eye through powerful songs that have profoundly related with fans across the globe. \n-Danny Wimmer Presents \nCitizen Soldier just released their new LP\, “ICARUS” on November 13th\, 2024. The record explores the \nband’s self-help themes through massive rock anthems\, begging to be played in arenas. Segura mused; \n“ICARUS is a representation of intense frustration. Touring the country\,! heard stories everyday of people feeling trapped. Trapped in their job\, a dysfunctional relationship\, addiction\, personal trauma\, sometimes in their own mistakes or maladaptive behaviors. There are too many voices in the world telling people what to do-but what people crave is validation\, and to feel seen. This album does just that.” \nThe 11-track collection features pop-sensible hooks\, bombastic guitar riffage\, and gut-wrenching moments\, especially in tracks like Good Old Days and Feels Like A Funeral\, the latter painting a picture of a mother battling post-partum depression. The intended message is resonating\, as the album has already achieved over 40 million streams. \nThe band will be playing a main stage slot at Sonic Temple music festival in Columbus\, Ohio in May of 2025\, and headlinina “The Semicolon Tour” throahout markets in the midwest and east coast. \nInstagram \nFacebook \nSpotify \nWebsite

SUMMARY:Jensen McRae - God Has A Hitman Tour
DESCRIPTION:Artist Presale: 1/13 at 10am\nSpotify Presale: 1/15 at 10am\nAll Presale End: 1/15 at 10pm\nPublic on Sale: 1/16 at 10am\n  \nJensen McRae  \nJensen McRae could’ve been down for the count. \n“The most profound choices of my life\,” she says\, “have often felt like things I did before I was ready to do\, and I had to grow into them.” McRae’s songs have a way of giving shape to these leaps\, cliff jumps and trust falls\, and on her new album\, I Don’t Know How But They Found Me!\, Jensen McRae goes further than ever\, evolving from a promising young artist to a fully grown songwriter and star. “It’s about realizing what you can’t outrun\, and what follows when you have withstood what you thought might crush you\,” she explains. “There are things that can happen to us—unthinkable\, untenable things—that threaten our safety in our own bodies. They happen\, and you feel like the only option is escape. In truth\, the only way out is in—back into the place you have always lived.” The home – with Jensen front-and-center\, possibly leaving\, possibly arriving – adorns the artwork for I Don’t Know How But They Found Me!”. “You can leave the city\, you can leave the lover\,” McRae continues\, “but you can never leave yourself.” \nFrom the very beginning\, fans have fallen in love with Jensen McRae for the sharp\, evocative and clear-eyed songwriting. An avid journaler\, McRae has been breathlessly documenting her existence since she was 18. Her first album\, Are You Happy Now?\, was a mission statement for the artist who grew up an automatic outsider: a Black Jewish girl from Los Angeles\, hellbent on making folk music in spite of the world’s attempts to box her into other\, more stereotypically Black genres. McRae looked to her songwriting heroes (Alicia Keys\, Carole King\, James Taylor\, Stevie Wonder) to build a sonic world all her own. As her audience grew and with myriad doors began unlocking\, it “became the record of my coming-of-age. But it was a quiet coming-of-age\, one that mostly took place inside my own head.” \nI Don’t Know How But They Found Me! takes place against the backdrop of romantic turbulence and McRae’s rapidly growing audience. “I had never been in love before\,” McRae said\, “not really. And then I had two life-altering relationships back to back in my early twenties. This album is primarily an exploration about how love and intimacy knock the wind out of you\, can take your legs out from under you.” She has also had multiple viral moments; the most recent was in 2023\, when McRae posted a solo verse and chorus online\, little more than a piece of a demo\, and it took off. Covers\, duets\, and an avalanche of new fans followed (including the likes of Justin Bieber\, Stormzy\, and Dan Nigro to name a few); the song was the beginning of “Massachusetts” \, which would become her first Dead Oceans release. \nI Don’t Know How But They Found Me! also reaffirms McRae’s defiance of expectations\, as she deepens her singer-songwriter bona fides and claims space for young Black women in the genre. “I do still feel like I’m pushing a boulder up a hill\,” she says. “I know that in spite of my success and hard work\, I still do hit walls that aren’t there for other people\, and that it’s because I’m working in a space that doesn’t already allow for people who look like me. It’s connected to why I make music\,” she continues\, “to be seen and to help others feel seen. But I remain somewhat misunderstood.” McRae’s voice expertly embodies both the heartbreak of being left and of doing the leaving. On top of her excellent songwriting\, McRae simply has an exceptional\, acrobatic voice. Wispy and textured at times\, clear and bright at others\, McRae’s singing is surprising and multidimensional in much the same way as her lyrics. When the country-adjacent stealth single “Savannah” hits its crescendo\, for example\, it’s clear McRae is an artist with her own singular power\, as piano layers with guitar and McRae delivers a series of scathing indictments with grit and conviction: “You swore you’d raise our kids to end up just like you / well you’re a false prophet / and that’s a goddamn promise.” “Let Me Be Wrong” is a buoyant ode to rejecting perfectionism. Built on a simple melody and acoustic guitar\, it grows step over step; guitars layer\, drums pick up the pace\, and when McRae growls “fuck those girls got everything” it’s a punch of both power and vulnerability\, begging to be shouted in unison with the biggest possible crowd. \nThe comparatively mellow but completely wrenching “Daffodils” explores the softer side of McRae’s singing\, while lines like “he cleaned my clock / he bought me daffodils” bring the album’s juxtapositions into devastating focus. It is\, by McRae’s own admission\, “one of the most emotionally brutal lines on the album.” In fact “Daffodils” and “Tuesday” dive into the album’s heaviest themes –specifically\, substance abuse and assault–and how slowly those particular dangers sink in when they’re brewing in an intimate partner. “Mother Wound” explores how an emotionally unavailable person can warp your ideas about love\, as McRae sings “loving you lowered my expectations” over a steady\, deliberate march of drums and piano. \nAmidst all this I Don’t Know How But They Found Me! finds ways to let the light in. Album opener “The Rearranger” shimmers with a nostalgic gleam\, even as it suggests trouble in paradise. “Novelty” is “a situationship anthem\,” in McRae’s words\, an infectious testament to the enduring allure of the one that got away. And even before the viral closer\, “Massachusetts\,” the penultimate “Praying For Your Downfall” oozes snark and charm\, cutting down a lover who’s no longer worth the ill will she once wished for him. It also marks McRae’s transformation into self-assuredness\, looking back at broken-heartedness but from a new\, more sure-footed and powerful vantage point. \nMcRae ventured to North Carolina to record I Don’t Know How But They Found Me! with Brad Cook (Waxahatchee\, Suki Waterhouse\, Bon Iver)\, also enlisting the help of Hippocampus’s Nathan Stocker on guitar\, Bon Iver’s Matthew McCaughan on drums\, and her younger brother\, Holden McRae\, on keys. “It felt like summer camp. None of us wanted to leave\,” McRae said. “It was such a joyous ten days of pure creative expression.” In the process\, I Don’t Know How But They Found Me! found its footing–a vibrating\, urgent collection of songs moored by razor-sharp lyrical specificity and timeless pop melodies. \nThe unusual title of her second album? Taken from a line in McRae’s favorite film\, Back to the Future. A key protagonist survives a hail of bullets\, and the image resonated with McRae. “I really connected with the idea that I could’ve easily collapsed beneath the weight of what happened to me\, but I didn’t. I didn’t even know it\,” McRae says\, “but I was bulletproof the whole time.

SUMMARY:Mahler’s Symphony of a Thousand
DESCRIPTION:The nickname “Symphony of a Thousand” scarcely does justice to Mahler’s epic work — one of the greatest in the concert repertoire. Its immense scope makes performances rare and\, therefore\, are to be treasured.

SUMMARY:The Avett Brothers & Mike Patton present AVTT/PTTN
DESCRIPTION:Experience the electrifying soundscape of AVTT/PTTN in the stunning intimacy of the Winspear Opera House. Public on sale begins Friday\, November 21 at 12 p.m. CST. \nPublic on sale begins Friday\, November 21 at 12 p.m. CST. \nIn 2019\, Scott Avett and Mike Patton began communicating after Avett mentioned his admiration of Patton in an interview which caught the eye of Patton’s management team. Patton told Avett the door was open for collaboration should Avett ever be interested. A year or so later\, Avett sent some song demos to Patton that blew him away. The trading of songs and sounds continued between The Avett Brothers and Mike Patton until several years later\, they had a full album of songs—and AVTT/PTTN was born. \nWritten by the Avetts and Patton\, and produced by Patton\, Scott\, and GRAMMY-winning engineer Dana Nielsen (Metallica\, Rihanna)\, the album represents more than just “one of the most unexpected collaborations of this (or any) year” (Consequence) — it’s a true full-circle moment. “Mike’s part of our DNA\, like the fabric of our youth\,” says Scott. “Literally\, we studied him. He’s a dear friend now\, but when we were younger\, I was imitating him.” Patton adds\, “My peculiar challenge in this was to become a long distant cousin. A brother that was orphaned. Maybe they kept him in the chicken coop or some shit. They brought him out years and years later.” \nThe unanticipated trio might not quite remember how they all first came into contact\, but call it serendipity that their casual exchange of admiration grew into a genuine creative partnership. As the group traded songs and ideas across coasts\, AVTT/PTTN came to fruition\, showcasing Scott\, Seth\, and Mike at their most adventurous. “This is what art is\,” Scott reflects. “This is what making is supposed to be: in secret and with no ambition.”

SUMMARY:Le Youth
DESCRIPTION:who are you really? is a line in the sand moment for the LA based Le Youth\, a collection of highly emotive songs that are aimed at spotlighting the shared human experience and the tendency for it to be all too frequently forgotten in the online conversation. It is this emotional common ground that he explores throughout the 14 tracks. The notion that we all share some of the same lived reality is one that he hopes can help further expose the societal norm of online cognitive distortion… the belittling of people online\, tearing down others and voicing negative opinions without ever truly knowing the human at the focal point of their discontent. \nThreaded through the record is a quieter admission: that in asking who we really are\, he’s also reckoning with the fear that beyond Le Youth\, he isn’t sure he knows himself at all anymore. The album exists somewhere between a personal diary and a quiet self-interrogation\, capturing the tension of trying to understand yourself while the world watches . The album’s intimacy\, the mundane moments\, the messiness and stillness of daily life are all part of the answer he’s searching for; a reminder that identity doesn’t only live on stage but in the unnoticed corners of a day. \nOn who are you really? Le Youth invites listeners to reflect on their own experiences and how they interact online\, all whilst trying to remind us that what binds us together can outshine the divisiveness\, as long as we are willing to let it. It’s both a question and a mirror\, asking just as much of him as it does of anyone who listens.
