With a slight grin\, he sips his coffee and leans back\, one arm draped casually and comfortably over the chair.  \n“I’m kind of settling into my age\, into allowing myself to be happy\,” the 33-year-old says. “For years\, I led myself and the people around me into a lot of unnecessary darkness. And now\, I’ve learned how to give and receive affection — it’s helped heal a lot of parts of myself.”  \nTod’s demeanor is a far cry from his usual stiff posture stance with arms folded\, this permeating sense of trepidation and scrutiny for what trouble may be coming down the pike. The relaxed\, calm aura is a sign of a human being who has overcome lifelong personal demons\, one who has finally become liberated — not only in his personal life\, but also his music.  \n“This latest record is so unusual for what I do\,” Tod says. “It’s almost a spite album\, to prove what I can do as a writer in whatever medium I step into.”  \nTitled Shooting Star\, the album carves a fresh creative path for Tod\, a storied singer-songwriter and frontman of Lost Dog Street Band. The self-proclaimed “proprietor of misery\,” Tod finds himself transcending into a life of gratitude\, patience\, and stability.  \n“People evolve and change. You’re growing as a person\,” Tod says. “If you want to get healthier\, you have to start intentionally behaving like a healthy person. You have to look around you and adapt to those things — if you don’t change your identity\, it’s hard to change yourself.”  \nFor this latest solo endeavor\, Tod tapped some of Nashville’s finest to conjure country gold. Shifting from his signature somber tone of struggle and survival\, Tod and his coal fire throat radiate a feeling of clarity and new beginnings in the face of adversity. The result is this intrinsic\, musical crossroads — more Hank Williams than Bob Wills\, more Marty Stuart than George Jones.  \n“Most of my career has been laser-focused on poetic\, piercing songwriting in mainly a folk tradition.” Tod says. “I wanted to prove to myself and the industry that I could write an elite country record with ease. Either way\, if I didn’t accomplish that goal\, I sure as hell came closer than anyone on pop country radio.”  \nThe inspiration for the project struck in the summer of 2022\, with Tod penning the opening track “I Ain’t The Man.” From there\, it became this unrelenting\, internal thirst for Tod to begin “imagining what all I could do within a genre slightly outside my comfort zone.”  \nWith a thick thread of honkytonk woven into it\, the album leaves fingerprints on seemingly every style of country\, from outlaw to red dirt\, folk to indie\, the culmination of which being a happily welcomed challenge for Tod — the ethos of his life and career at this juncture howling loudly “obstacles are opportunities.” \nShooting Star is also a full-circle moment for Tod. Coming of age in Music City\, he found himself squarely in the midst of rough-n-tumble Lower Broadway. Busking on street corners playing Woody Guthrie and Jim Ringer tunes for spare change. And getting kicked out of Robert’s Western World or Layla’s Honky Tonk “more times than most regulars had been before the age of 20.”  \n“Growing up on Lower Broad\, the influences that I received kind of came later in life\,” Tod says. “That sound was always on the tip of my tongue\, but it wasn’t until about five or six years ago when I started getting back into my roots\, really listening to country again and enjoying honkytonk — this record feels like a homecoming.”  \nTod views Shooting Star as a rebuttal to the current state of affairs\, for good or ill\, of his native Nashville and of the music industry itself. The 10-song LP harkens to the golden era of country music. It’s taking “three chords and the truth” and actually holding yourself to those standards of vulnerability and authenticity.  \n“I want to make music that helps people on a personal basis\, to work through their own trauma and problems\, to better serve their families\, themselves\, and their communities\,” Tod says. “As a society\, we need to reform back to our spirit. And my intent is to direct people back to their spirit — mind\, body\, and soul.”  \nIn reflection of the long\, arduous road to where he firmly stands today\, Tod acknowledges his whirlwind\, volatile past. But\, the troubadour does so with pure intent\, pushing headlong into this unwritten chapter of possibility and purpose.  \n“Right now\, I’m very excited for the future\, and very thankful\,” Tod says. “I’ve worked incredibly hard and made changes in my life — I’m becoming the person I’ve longed to become for years.” \n

DESCRIPTION:On Sale: Friday\, November 14 at 10am  \n  \nDoors: 6:00 pm \nShow: 7:00 pm  \n \nLittle Feat: The Last Farewell Tour Playing is the joy and satisfaction of touring\, but it comes with the hard part–travel\, the endless miles on a bus. There’s no dodging the wear and tear\, and Little Feat has been playing for quite a while. With tongue stuck somewhat in cheek\, Little Feat announces “The Last Farewell Tour\,” which will begin in April 2026.It’s definitely not an absolute\, never-gonna-play again statement. This wind-down will take several years to accomplish\, and while it does\, Feat will continue to perform and record as long as they are able. It’s a retirement from the travel of touring. Little Feat began in 1969 when Frank Zappa told Lowell George he should start his own band. As Lowell happened to have a pretty small shoe size\, the name became obvious. He found a partner/keyboard player in Bill Payne and a drummer in Richie Hayward. After a few transitions\, they added Kenny Gradney (bass)\,Sam Clayton(percussion)\,Paul Barrere (guitar) and eventually Fred Tackett (guitar)\, and began a now56-year journey that has produced dozens of songs–“Dixie Chicken\,” “Oh\, Atlanta\,” “Willin’\,” “Fat Man in the Bathtub”–and a thousand memories. One result was one of the best live albums in the history of rock ’n’roll\, Waiting for Columbus. The road (see above!) is hard\, and it cost them first Lowell George in1979\, Richie Hayward in 2010\, and Paul Barrere in 2019. The everlasting Little Feat groove demanded playing\, and they added Scott Sharrard (guitar) and Tony Leone(drums)\, and may well be playing at the very height of their powers\, recently releasing a well-received album of original material\, Strike Up the Band. Their inimitable blend of rock\, New Orleans swamp boogie\, jazz\, and blues is not only unique but an ongoing source of delight. Feat has an incredible legacy of music and the celebration that comes with it\, and the near future will see them honoring their own past with more playing. But it’s time to give the trusty tour bus\, however comfy\, a rest.

DESCRIPTION:AUGUST BURNS RED — JB Brubaker [lead guitar]\, Brent Rambler [rhythm guitar]\, Matt Greiner [drums]\, Jake Luhrs [lead vocals]\, and Dustin Davidson [bass] — released Leveler: 10th Anniversary Edition on May 21st 2021\, and are gearing up to take it on the road in September/October. The band re-recorded its fourth album\, which was originally released on June 21\, 2011\, with special guests\, brand new guitar solos\, alternate tunings\, and more. Leveler: 10th Anniversary Edition was produced\, mixed\, and mastered by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland at Atrium Audio. The vinyl was mastered by Will Putney. \n “Leveler is a record we’ve always been proud of\, and we wanted to do something special for its ten-year anniversary\,” says Brubaker. “We’ve done some cool remix projects for previous albums when they’ve turned 10\, but with Leveler\, we decided to kick things up a notch. We dove into this record and dissected the songs\, rewriting solos\, changing the tunings\, adding new textures and elements\, and got a few of our friends to do some guest spots as well. Our longtime producers Carson Slovak and Grand McFarland handled the recording/mixing and helped us take Leveler to new sonic heights. I think this is the best-sounding ABR record we’ve ever made\, and it’s going to allow people to experience the record in a whole new way. I can’t wait to share this with everyone.” \n Upon release\, Leveler was met with near-universal praise. Opportunities include serving meals\, assisting guests in the food pantry\, supporting Streetside Showers outreach\, assembling snack bags and hygiene kits\, and helping maintain The Stewpot campus. \nSpecial events throughout the week include a Neighbor Talent Show on April 23\, following Streetside Showers\, where neighbors share music\, art and storytelling\, and an All Ages Volunteer Day on April 25 from 9:30 a.m.–12 p.m.\, designed for families to serve together. \nParticipation is free\, and volunteers of all ages\, backgrounds and group sizes are welcome.
